- Simple comfort measures, back rubs, position changes, transfers.
- Bedside vigilance while family members/caregivers rest.
- Respite for caregivers to take a break away from home.
- Bereavement support.
We are proud to welcomes nine new Visiting Volunteers to Hospice Huntsville! All Visiting Volunteers must complete a 10 session training course mandated by the Hospice Association of Ontario. If you are interested in becoming a Visiting Volunteer or to register for the next training session in the fall, please contact Elaine Rose, Program Coordinator at 705-789-6878 Ext. 200 or email: hospiceh@vianet.ca.
Visiting Volunteer meetings are scheduled monthly and are held at Fairvern Nursing Home. The purpose of the meetings is to learn and share with each other our experiences. We invite guest speakers to discuss topics of palliative care, bereavement and care for the caregiver.
