What is the Hike for Hospice?
The Hike for Hospice is a nationwide event hosted by hospice and palliative care organizations. This event occurs annually on the first Sunday of May and kicks off National Palliative Care Week .
The Hike builds awareness and raises funds to ensure individuals and their family members, facing end of life situations receive support at no charge.
The hike is also a way to celebrate and honour our loved ones in a special and meaningful way.
100% of the funds raised by Hospice Huntsville stay in our community

We rely on fundraising & donation dollars to ensure our ongoing operations. Events like the Hike for Hospice Huntsville contribute to 60% of our operating costs that must be secured each year. With the incredible support of our community, we can continue to offer vital programs to support high-quality end of life care needs at no cost to recipients.

How?
Start Fundraising: Download the Hike Pledge/Donation Form 2023(see below) or pick up a registration package Hospice Huntsville/Algonquin Grace (front entrance vestibule)
Fundraising can be done through “JustGiving” online platform, by use of paper pledge forms, or use both!

Step 1: Register to join us for the Hike
(New: Registration form is required only for hikers that are collecting pledges using the paper pledge form.)

2) Register for online fundraising with JustGiving. You can register as an individual or as a family or corporate team.
Step 2: Click Hike for Hospice 2023 – JustGiving Then click on the orange “Start Fundraising” button to create your own fundraising page

Step 3: Help us spread awareness about Hospice Huntsville & the Hike. Share your story by social media & email
Step 4: See you on Hike Day!
Please Note:
- A registration form is only required for those who are only collecting pledges using the paper pledge form. Anyone who signs up on-line is automatically registered. Registration forms are available either in the Registration Kits located in the Algonquin Grace front vestibule
- Registration Forms should be returned to Hospice Huntsville no later than April 28, 2023 to the attention of Tracy Badger by:
- Fax: 705-787-0504
- Scan and email to tracy@hospicehuntsville.com
- Drop the form off in person to Hospice Huntsville/Algonquin Grace 100 Frank Miller Drive.
- Additional Pledge Forms can also be found in the Algonquin Grace vestibule.
There is a minimum $50 donation required by each Hiker which will be waived if your total pledges/donations are $100 or more. Hikers are responsible for collecting all pledges

Hike Committee Members & Volunteers Needed
Call for Committee Volunteers Hospice Huntsville is looking for community members to join the 2023 Hike for Hospice Planning Committee. If you like to organize activities, have an interest in Hospice Huntsville and are looking for a rewarding opportunity, this might be the right fit for you. Your committee commitment would be for up to 6 meetings ranging in time from 1 to 1.5 hours with some additional work outside of the meetings. We would also look for your involvement on Hike Day. Meetings will be a hybrid of in-person and via Zoom. Please contact tracy@hospicehuntsville.ca or at 705-789-6878 for further information and to volunteer your services.
